FSP 157c Board Positions
The FSP-157c Board is elected every Spring for the upcoming school year. All Board positions require at least one year experience as an Event Chairperson. Regular attendance at FSP meetings is required of all Board members.
At the start of every year, the Committees and Events will be divided equally among Board positions. Each Board member is expected to oversee their respective Committee’s in addition to the duties of their position.
President / Co-President
Serves as leader(s) and key contact(s) for the FSP. Liaison between administration and FSP members. Maintains contact with all administrators on a regular basis. Oversees all Board and General meetings or appoints another board member to act in their absence. Coordinates activities and information between the Board and all Committee Chairpersons and ensures that the FSP’s objectives are met.
Vice President / Co-Vice President
Primary responsibility is to act as an aide to the President(s). Perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to serve. Responsible for contact with all Chairpersons during the year to ensure timely planning of all events and problem solving. Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Board. Also serves as the overall Volunteer coordinator.
Secretary
Records the minutes of all General Meetings and all meetings of the Executive Board; prepares correspondence and performs other duties assigned; maintains master documents; prepare sand coordinates distribution of the monthly newsletter; facilitates distribution of emails through FSP email and District website; helps recruit Committee Chairpersons for all vacant standing Committees of the board; keeps the calendar of events for the FSP. Primary responsibility is record keeper and public relations.
Treasurer
Post all financial transactions to the financial system as they occur throughout the month. Reconciles the checkbook; writes checks as needed (two signatures and proper paperwork required); makes deposits in a timely manner, as needed. Reviews each event transaction and documentation to ensure proper recordkeeping. Keeps financial transaction forms available for all volunteers. Creates monthly FSP Treasurer Reports and up to date financial statements with supporting documentation. Attends Board meetings once per month and FSP meetings as planned. Leads the annual Budget Development process in August. Presents the budget for approval at September FSP meeting. Completes all registrations for the organization as well as facilitates preparation of tax returns. Maintains insurance and tax exempt cards. Prepares all documentation for the annual audit.
